If you have some basic working knowledge with the Python programming language or you are beginning to manage your data fluently in other programming languages and want to learn more about Python, some data champions will be running a one-day session on Thursday 12th October in the Downing Site
This course will cover functions and modules and requires some basic programming skills as described in the link to the training page.
Introduction to Python
If you are interested in learning to use the Python programming language from scratch, there are sessions for beginners. Although these are currently fully-booked please sign up to the waiting list / register your interest, so we can gauge demand for future sessions, and allocate spaces if these become available

This is a friendly introduction to Github – a free and open source platform that can help you build projects that are collaborative, well documented, and version-controlled.
In this workshop we will introduce you to the Github ecosystem and help you get you comfortable navigating basic Github workflows. We will make sure that you leave the workshop aware of the best practices for developing projects on Github (e.g. writing a good “readme” or posting and labeling issues) and an understanding of how Github can help make your projects more readable and accessible.
