Open Research

We can all remember a great orator or presenter, someone who can hook you on an idea within seconds and hold you there. You will undoubtedly have to give a presentation or make a speech, probably in the near future - so why not be great at it?
Simon Cain is coming to Cambridge to teach you how to make an impact in front of an audience. Simon has been responsible for delivering presentation and public speaking courses to a wide range of private and public sector clients including the European Commission, ITV, Credit Suisse, the World Nuclear Association and London Olympics 2012. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and won the UK’s first Supreme Training Award. So if you’re going to learn from someone- it’s going to be him.

There will be four sessions during Thursday 23 February:
Session 1: 12.00 - 13.00, LT6 CUED, Target Audience: Researchers Only
Session 2: 13.00 - 14.00, LT2 CUED, Target Audience: Undergraduates
Session 3: 15.00 - 16.00, LT1 CUED, Target Audience: Postgraduates
Session 4: 16.30 - 17.30, LT1 CUED, Target Audience: Open

All completely free and open to all.
If you can’t make the session that’s tailored to you: don’t worry. You’ll still learn a great deal by coming to another session.

NOTE: the sessions will be structured by watching someone give an actual presentation and have it critiqued by Simon for the benefit of the room. If you want to be that person and have the 1-to-1 personal training experience with one of the nation’s best presentation skills consultants, please contact Ed for more details: president@cuengineeringsociety.org.uk
