The Office of Scholarly Communication has developed a new set of termly training sessions for PhD students starting in Michaelmas 2016. They will run every term and have separate sessions for STEM and HASS students. Students are free to attended whichever sessions they want to. Topics covered include:

  • The benefits of making your research open
  • Copyright
  • How to pick a journal
  • Book publishing
  • How to manage your data and digital information
  • How to share your publications effectively
  • Ways to track the online attention surrounding your publications

Many of the sessions are interactive and students are encouraged to bring along a laptop, tablet or phone so they can click along and explore the tools highlighted in each session. The sessions are listed on our Events page.
