OSC’s Request a Copy service noticed an increase in requests for Cambridge theses after a Cambridge University video on TikTok inviting applications for the university’s postgraduate degrees went viral, and started trending on Instagram.
In the video, husband and wife Dr Will Deacon and Dr Harum Mukhayer describe one another’s PhD theses. Their support for one another helped win the positive reaction from viewers. Harum’s thesis is on the rights of transboundary peoples, and Will’s is on nanophotonics.
Request a Copy, a feature on Apollo, the University of Cambridge’s institutional repository, facilitates requests for copies of work which is under embargo. Authors can distribute embargoed manuscripts on an individual to individual basis.
