An open discussion between publishers, funders and YOU
Biomedical publishing faces significant challenges that affect career development as well as the delivery of the benefits of new discoveries.
Preprints are a new dimension to the current situation, one that can revolutionize the way we communicate Biology. In some ways it can free us from the increasing gridlock of conventional publishing. It is in this context that a few months ago the ASAPbio (Accelerating Science and Publication in biology) initiative was launched (visit their website for information: http://asapbio.org/).
Come and hear from publishers, funders about how preprints might help you:
- John Inglis (BioRxiv, CSH)
- Mark Patterson (eLife)
- Katherine Brown (The Company of Biologists)
- Hannah Hope (The Wellcome Trust)
- Sophia Abbasi (BBSRC)
- Steven Royle (University of Warwick),
- Raymond Goldstein, Alfonso Martinez Arias, Sudhakaran Prabakaran and Aylwynn Scally (University of Cambridge)
No booking required.
The event is being organised by Prof Alfonso Martinez Arias, Department of Genetics.
